Previously in January 2007,Famous pop singer Jamal Abdillah has been charged with possession of syabu. He is alleged to have possessed a tube of the drug at a worker’s quarters at the Rest House in Teluk Intan on Thursday night. Jamal, 47, pleaded not guilty to the charge under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. The offence carries a maximum jail term of five years or fine of up to RM20,000, or both. Jamal atau nama sebenarnya Jamal Ubaidullah Ali berasal dari Kampung Bahagia, di Teluk Intan dan pernah muncul juara Bintang RTM pada 1979 dan mula mencipta nama dengan album sulungnya, Perpisahan Tanpa Relamu. Today is supposed to be the day Jamal and his cousin, Azly Hussham to attend court proceeding at Mahkamah Majistret Teluk Intan. Namun begitu, ketidakhadiran keduanya hari ini telah menyebabkan Mahkamah mengeluarkan waran tangkap terhadap penyanyi tersebut dan sepupunya Azly Hussham Mohamad Zambi setelah kedua-duanya gagal menghadiri sebutan semula kes tuduhan memiliki dadah. During the court proceeding taking place on last 19 January, both have pleaded not guilty and had been released on bail. According to unofficial statistics 90% of drug addicts will go back on drugs in less than a year, if proper attention not given. Magistrate Court Judge says…Well..no special treatment here..Law is Law..Well this reminds me of Paris Hilton’s Judge. The same was being said by him. But somehow Paris managed to get her sentenced reduced to only 21 days in jail instead of 49..What a bummer..! Whatever it is, this should be a lesson to everyone thinking of playing around with court’s order!
