What’s so great about Yasmin Ahmad and her movie Mukhsin to the extent of winning an award at an International Film Festival in Berlin? To me, it’s the way Yasmin grapples with the issue of humanity. It’s depth and meticulous work. The french song in the movie really describes life, feelings, memories and adventures of two innocent kids. C’est Fantistique Yasmin! Beau travail..It is sung by my all time favourite Nina Simone. Ne Me Quitte Pas means Don’t Leave Me. It reminds me of my another favourite French song by Nina Simone in the movie “Assassin” by Bridget Fonda. Mukhsin will be out to the public on March 8th, 2007. The movie features two interesting and talented newcomers, Sharifah Aryana as Orked and Mohd Syafie Naswip as Mukhsin (whom I was told having a real off-screen crush on Aryana). Lovely lagu keroncong.

You know, I have to tell you, I really enjoy this blog and the insight from everyone who participates. I find it to be refreshing and very informative. I wish there were more blogs like it. Anyway, I felt it was about time I posted, I?ve spent most of my time here just lurking and reading, but today for some reason I just felt compelled to say this.
